- The first time I encountered spirits was when I was 18. I was already married and divorced and living back at home with my crazy mother. In order to never have to be home I went out every single night on dates, sometimes several dates so as to make sure I was out late enough not to have to interact with my mother. For some reason after not being home one single evening in 9 - 10 months, I had an overwhelming desire to stay in. Luckily my mother was not going to be home, so I was actually thrilled to have the house to myself as well as time to recoup from partying every night for almost a year. I went to bed early. I woke p out of a dead sleep at exactly 2:10 am after having a strange dream that my great grand mother had visited me. She sat at the end of my bed and told me she loved me and that I was going to be alright if I just remembered all that she had taught me and lived my life with honor and loved my family with all my heart including those to come. My grand mother had been in a nursing home for the last few years and so I just assumed I had dreamed of her because I missed her. I laid back down to go back to sleep. Approx an hour later I am woke again by the phone this time. It was my Aunt. She was calling to say that my grandmother had passed on at 2:10 am that morning. Since her passing, I have quite regularly known things before being told. Not always, but much more often than could be considered coincidental. According to my grandmother and mother, we all have this insight to our family and sometimes even friends. That when they are in trouble, having trouble or about to have trouble we sense it and know even before it has happened that something is going to happen.
